cupcake.

This Chocolate cake recipe is seriously the best, for being so basic in ingredients.
Hand-me-down Chocolate cake

2 cups Flour

1 1/4 tsp. Baking soda

3/4 tsp. salt

3/4 cups Cocoa ( I am almost always adding just a bit more than this because I like lots of chocolate :)

1 3/4 cups Sugar

Mix these thoroughly then add-

2 eggs

1 1/2 tsp Vanilla

1 1/3 cups Water

3/4 cup Oil

Mix very well. You can't really over mix it.

Pour into greased whateversize pan you like. Bake a 350 Fahrenheit, 35 to 40 minutes for 13x9 inch pan. 15-20 minutes for cupcakes.

I like using the glossy chocolate frosting from my Betty Crocker cookbook but mint or most any flavor works pretty well.

Happy day! :)

hey, is the frosting the same as the Chocolate Buttercream Frosting? I have a Betty Crocker cookbook but I can't find glossy chocolate frosting.

I don't think so. :) we have three Betty crocker cookbooks. well I guess I have two and mom has one, but they are pretty old. and they have glossy chocolate but no chocolate buttercream :) anyhow.
Here is the glossy chocolate, It could be the same.
soften-
3 tbs butter
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
then add
2 cups powdered sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

and it is definetly my favorite chocolate frosting recipe. although sometimes I use cocoa powder and add extra butter.
