Signs of Summer

Tonight was pretty lovely, I went out because Lars and Dad were looking photogenic.
And the sky was lovely. It made me want to go on a bike ride. Actually I have been wanting to go on a bike ride quite a few days in a row.
But I never actually do it. Some time I will just have to go.

This is one little Johny Jump-Up' that was in our yard.
They have such pretty colors.
Dad and Lars. It is too bad that it is fuzzy because it is sweet. They are going to check to see if there were any apple blossoms. There are no blossoms by the way. They are getting there though.
And the Beautiful sky..... and Pip, the cat.

Saturday

I love Saturdays, especially the Saturdays I don't have to work. Today was one of those marvelous days. I slept in until 10:30, watched part of a BBC movie (North and South) while eating cereal, and then ran to Wal-mart where I purchased a canvas and acrylic paint with which I painted the picture below. Painting and basketball took up the majority of my afternoon (oh yeah, I watched episode 2 of North and South as well) and this evening Mom, Bob, and I went random shopping (random shopping is where you are looking for nothing in particular but are in the mood for an adventure. At least that's what I was in it for). We had ice cream at Culver's and I guess Bob and I were getting kinda giggly because Mom asked the girl at the drive-through if she could purchase a baby-sitter as well. Imagine! I finally bought a chicken I have been wanting for a while, a chicken that I did not buy the three previous times I have been in Pier 1. It's really a beautiful chicken. Her name is Joyce but I call her Bertie. Anyway, Bob bought two orange pool noodles which we cut in half and surprised the boys with an attack. An outside fenced match ensued which later turned in a small water fight. Only Billy got wet (hehe). And finally, this evening Bob, Jimmy, Billy, and I had a Guess Who tournament in which I got both 1st and 2nd place! What a beautiful day.

President

My bush has bloomed and it smells delightful! We've been waiting for this moment ever since we moved in and now we are happy to see that President is a purple lilac bush instead of white. Purple is a much prettier color on him.

what a beautiful day

The weather today has been irresistably beautiful! It's given us the chance to get some outside prejects we've been avoiding done. Dad taught us three kids how to change the oil in Polly's car. It gave us a fun chance to get dirty and Polly is very glad to have people who know how to change her oil (she figures if we all know how, she'll never have to learn).

Dad, Jimmy, and I also got some yard work done. Mom's Mother's Day rose bush was planted and the yard mowed. Jim and I pulled up some of those beautiful but destructive dandelions, and watered the lawn. Dad and Jimmy got watered too when the water nozzle thing strangly stuck Funny how those things happen (hehe).

This is Mom's Mother's Day present from Bets and Winn. It's so pretty.Bianca taking a peek at our progress.
